Do not conduct courses not approved by NCTE: High Court

hc

KOCHI: The High Court has ordered the University of Calicut not to offer admission to teaching courses not approved by the National Council for Technical Education (NCTE) from this academic year. The division bench comprising Justice A Muhammad Mushtaq and Justice Shobha Annamma Eepan issued the order on a petition filed by student Sharul Banu.

The petitioner approached the High Court against the M.Ped and B.Ped courses run by Calicut University. At the same time, the division bench also clarified that the university has no impediment to approaching the NCTE to grant legal recognition to these courses. NCTE had earlier informed the High Court that both courses do not have its approval.
