Rs 550 crore wedding, 11,000 guests; Know about one of the most expensive Indian wedding

xx

Sahara Group was the largest employment provider in the country after Indian Railways. Before Sahara Group met with the massive downfall, Sahara chief Subrata Roy was known for his lavish lifestyle and the parties he threw. His sons Sushanto and Seemanto tied the knot in a double-wedding back in 2004 and Roy left no stone unturned to make it an expensive affair.

The double wedding is considered as one of the most expensive Indian weddings of all time and he has spent Rs 550 crore for this. Subrata Roy invited 11,000 guests for the wedding. Private jets were arranged for the guests to reach the wedding venue in Lucknow. It was a four-day-long wedding.

Other than the lavish wedding, he arranged the wedding of 101 underprivileged girls and fed around 15,000 poor people. Sushanto is married to Richa Ahuja and Seemanto to Chantini Toor. The wedding venue was decorated with expensive flowers, glittering lights, prism glass and lamps. Bollywood stars, distinguished political personalities and sportspersons were the guests. 100 special dishes were served for the wedding feast.
