Ganja seized from Kayamkulam and Kannur; Assam native arrested

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Excise Commissioner informed that 12.83 kg ganja has been seized from Kayamkulam and Kannur during Excise raid against drug trafficking and sale. Kayamkulam Excise Range Party and Kayamkulam Railway Protection Force jointly conducted an inspection at the railway station and seized 6 kg of ganja from the Chennai mail train. The search for the accused is ongoing.

Kannur Range Inspector and team arrested Assam native Abu with 5.83 kg of ganja which he brought from Odisha for sale in Kannur town. He used to work as tailor in stitching shops and then sells ganja in small packets after work. Excise informed that strict vigilant measures including vehicle inspections will be conducted.

Last day, Excise had arrested two youths with 6 kg ganja following a tip-off.
