ASI suspended for dancing in uniform during temple fest in inebriated condition

IDUKKI: An assistant sub inspector (ASI) has been suspended after he was found dancing in uniform under the influence of alcohol. Santhanpara additional sub inspector K P Shaji was suspended following the report of the special branch. The video of the officer dancing during a temple festival near Pooppara had gone viral on social media. The special branch conducted a probe after it went viral and submitted the report.

The main reason cited for his suspension was that he was found dancing before the public while on duty in an inebriated condition. The report said a major dereliction of duty was found from his side. Ernakulam range DIG suspended Shaji based on the report of Munnar DySP.
