Youth sustains serious burns after climbing transformer, bites power line over dispute with wife

CHENNAI: A youth has been admitted in the hospital for suffering serious burns after he climbed a transformer and bit a wire at Thiruvallur in Tamil Nadu. He did that after his wife left home following a spat. Dharmadurai (33) of Chinnamangodu climbed the transformer.

Dharmadurai was upset after his wife went to her house in Reddipalayam. He had had approached Arambakkam Police multiple times to file a complaint against his brothers-in-law in order to bring his wife back. He went to the station yesterday also but as he was in a drunken stage, the police asked him to sit in the waiting room. Following this, Dharmadurai climbed the transformer opposite the police station.

Dharmadurai bit the power wire of the transformer while the police and nearby residents asked him to come down. He sustained serious burns and was admitted to the police hospital. The visuals of Dharmadurai climbing the transformer and biting the wire has gone viral on social media.
