BJP has a bigger goal to achieve through Antony's son despite knowing Anil has little influence in Christian sector

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Although ended active politics in Delhi and returned to Kerala, BJP's political gain with Anil's arrival is the image of Antony's son. Amidst nationwide protests over Rahul Gandhi's disqualification, this is a big blow to the Congress.

The BJP also have the calculation that the arrival of Anil, a Christian face, will be an element for the inroads into the Christian minority vote bank. The remark of Thalassery Bishop Joseph Pamplany that if the price of rubber is increased, the problem of BJP not having even an MP in Kerala will be solved, and the fact that it has received indirect support from the Bishop of Thamarassery also gives enthusiasm to the BJP. Orthodox Church chief visiting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi is also seen as a significant step by the BJP.

Although Anil Antony cannot be said to have much political influence in the Christian sector of Kerala, the political dimension of having a well-known Christian face is different.

It hurts Antony that his label will be used as a weapon to celebrate his son's entry into the party. The question of whether Antony, who called to save the country from the hands of the BJP, could not convince even those in his own house, will also sting the Congress. The most loyal of the Nehru family, Antony was an important face in the first and second UPA governments. As the Lok Sabha elections are around the corner, Anil Antony's celebratory change to the BJP will make the Left Front a propaganda tool in Kerala.
