KOZHIKODE: The interrogation of Shahrukh Saifi, the accused in the Elathur train fire case, continues. The accused told the police that he did not push anyone from the train and was not involved in the death of three people. He was earlier charged with murder based on the conclusion that he was involved in the death of three people.

The deceased have been identified as KP Noufeeq, a native of Mattannur, Rehmat and his niece Zehra Bathul. The three bodies were found on the railway track. But no burn injuries were found on their bodies. The cause of death was haemorrhage and head injury due to the accident.

The bodies were found two hours after the fire happened. Yesterday, the accused testified that he poured petrol on the passengers and set fire when he randomly felt so. But the investigation team did not believe this. Terror links behind this is also being investigated. The NIA's report to the Union Home Ministry says that terror links cannot be ruled out.
