KOZHIKODE: BJP state secretary MT Ramesh came down heavily on Tourism Minister Muhammed Riyas for ridiculing BJP’s Christian outreach programme.

“The Minister said that Christians will respond to BJP’s outreach programme by reading out RSS’s ‘Vichardhara’. I want to tell Muhammed Riyas that writings in ‘Vichardhara’ were made in a particular context and it has no relevance now”, he said.

“CPI (M) and Congress are scared of seeing BJP’s popularity among the Christian community. They are making baseless allegations to safeguard their vote bank. Leaders of CPI (M) and Congress make hue and cry only when BJP leaders visit Bishops. BJP is getting overwhelming support from the Christian community having great faith in Modi government at the Centre”, he added.

Tourism Minister Muhammed Riyas while targeting BJP had asked whether its leaders will discard the RSS ideology. He also raked up incidents of attacks on Churches and Christian missionaries in North India carried out by rightwing groups.
