KOTTAYAM: The big game played by the police in the accident that led to the death of siblings, are out. The siblings died after the car driven by K M Mani Junior (Kunjumani 19) fatally knocked them down.
The explanation of the police is that as per the statement of Jose Mathew, brother of Yohannan, father of the two killed, was mentioned in the FIR that the car was driven by a 45-year-old person. However, when everyone went to the hospital after hearing about the accident, two cops brought Jose to the station to generate a favorable statement.
‘Have never said that the car was driven by a 45-year-old person. Don’t know about the accident and was at home at the time of the incident. As vision in one eye is not clear, signed where the police asked to,’ said Jose Mathew. If justice is denied, will approach the chief minister, said Yohanan and Sissamm, parents of Jis and Jins’ killed in the accident.
No money paid
The parents have decided to go forward with the case. No hatred towards the MP’s son, but justice should not be denied. A job should be offered to Jis’ pregnant wife Ansu.
Political influence
Manu Mathew, nephew of Yohanan, said there was political influence from the beginning of the case. It is clear that the car was driven by Kunjumani. The Innova that caused the accident was brought to the police station within hours and covered with a tarpaulin. The police did not say the reason for the error in the FIR. It is said that a new report will be given to the court within 60 days. Will wait till then, said Manu.
Police' foul play
It was stated that the accident happened after the scooter hit the back of the Innova. There was an attempt to change the driver after recording a false statement in the first FIR. Avoided Kunjumani’s blood test and his arrest was delayed. The report of the JRTO to cancel the license is being delayed.
