NEW DELHI: The CBI will question Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today in the liquor policy case. Kejriwal has been instructed to reach the CBI office at 11 am. Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party is planning to organize protests across Delhi against the CBI action. Thousands of security personnel have been deployed in the city ahead of the protests.
Meanwhile, Arvind Kejriwal said that he will appear at the CBI office and will fully cooperate in the investigation. AAP has said that they will not be afraid of the CBI's notice and will cooperate with the questioning. Aam Aadmi MP Sanjay Singh has stated that they will politically face the BJP's political games using central agencies.
It is reported that a statement has been received against the Delhi Chief Minister in the corruption case related to the revised liquor policy. CBI had earlier questioned Kejriwal's staff. The CBI had received a statement that Kejriwal held discussions with the liquor businessmen through the phone of Vijay Nair, a Malayali businessman whom the CBI alleges had played an important role in formulating the liquor policy.
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was sacked after he was jailed for being accused in the liquor policy case. Sisodia was called to the CBI headquarters in Delhi on February 26 and was arrested. Subsequently, an arrest was also registered in an ED case related to liquor policy.
