KOZHIKODE: A Maoist leader has been arrested from Pantheerankavu. He has been identified as Ajay Ojan of Jharkhand. He had been staying in the migrants’ labor camp for a month and a half.
A special investigating team arrested him with the help of the Kerala Police. The police said Ajay Ojan is the leader of the People's Liberation Front of India, a pro-Maoist armed group formed in Jharkhand in 2007. He had earlier served a jail term.
Ojan presently in Pantheerankavu police station will be taken to Jharkhand after completing all the procedures. He was staying in Pantheerankavu doing some artisan works. He was arrested from his rented room near a timber mill. It is reported that he had visited Kerala four times since 2019. He is a member of People's Liberation Front of India, an extreme left organization.
