Fake advocate Sessy Xavier finally surrenders

ALAPPUZHA: Sessy Xavier, who worked as a lawyer using forged documents, surrendered at the Alappuzha First Class Magistrate Court. She was on the run for months. The court had remanded her.

The Alappuzha North Police registered FIR against her based on the complaint of bar association secretary Abhilash Soman, for not providing the qualification documents despite being asked for them. She forged a document for enrolling using the register number of another person. She had also worked as a court commission earlier.

The complaint demanded to register a case on charges for cheating by impersonation and cheating. The complaint is that, without passing the exam and without enrolling, she cheated the court and the lawyers and was practicing in Alappuzha for two and a half years. Sessy won the bar association election with a huge majority and was elected as librarian. She got membership in bar association in 2018. The complaint said that she had participated in court proceedings including in the district court for two and a half years and had gone as an advocate commission in many cases.

Allegations were levelled on her qualification in 2021. The bar association then asked her to produce the documents within 24 hours, but she failed to do so. It was also found that such a name was not in the list of the Bar Council in the enrollment number given by them. She was practicing in another person’s enrollment number.
