THRISSUR: The preliminary post-mortem report in the case of the death of an eight-year-old girl after her phone exploded in Thiruvilwamala, is out. The report said the cause of death was injuries sustained when the phone exploded. The child's face and head were seriously injured due to the impact of the explosion.
The accident happened on Monday night. The dead is Adithyashree, daughter of Ashok Kumar of Pattiparambu. The phone exploded while she was watching the video. Adityashree was a third-class student of Christ New Life School in Thiruvilvamala. Her father Ashok Kumar, was a member of the block panchayat. The police are still investigating the incident.
The Redmi 5 Pro mobile phone bought three years ago from Palakkad, exploded. Forensic examination revealed that the phone was not being charged at the time of the accident. The phone was overheated. The impact of the accident was more as the phone was inside the blanket. The battery of the mobile that exploded had bent. The preliminary conclusion of the forensic team was informed to the police.
