NEW DELHI: India has issued a strong warning to China against the latter's provocation at the border without respecting the Line of Actual Control (LAC). India has made it clear that the future of its relations with China will depend on peace on the border.
It was Defense Minister Rajnath Singh who clarified India's strong position in a meeting with Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) conference.
India also stated that the violation of existing agreements has affected bilateral relations. Rajnath Singh also pointed out that all issues along the LAC should be resolved in accordance with bilateral agreements.
This is the first visit by the Chinese Defence Minister following the border transgression in Galwan in June 2020.
Rajnath Singh also held discussions with Iran's Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Gharai Ashtiani, Kazakhstan's Defence Minister Colonel General Ruslan Zhaxylykov and Tajikistan's Defence Minister Colonel General Sherali Mirzo.
