CPI-CPM feud over public administration reforms in state

public-administration

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Administrative, senior administrative, and special officers who were assigned to different departments from the secretariat will have a handful of duties to monitor. Transfers, promotions, and disciplinary actions will fall into the domain of these officers. The public administration department's decision was approved by additional chief secretary Dr. V Venu.

Meanwhile, adding more spark to the issue, the CPI service organization alleged CPM favorites from the secretariat being curry-favored with beneficial posts in certain departments. The accusation also talked about CM Pinarayi Vijayan having an upper hand in public administration issues. The newly allotted administrative officers will have a bigger command of matters than the department directors who are IAS-IPS cadres.

The newly assigned officer will have a plethora of things to do. The seniority list should be published within January, the DPC meetings should be called before December, the files should be managed in a way to avoid any contempt of court, and salary increments of non-gazetted officers should be considered. These are few among the many works in line for the administrative office.
