Malayali woman succumbs to injuries after acid attack by husband 

COIMBATORE: A Malayali woman, who sustained serious burn injuries after her husband, a lorry driver, threw acid on her in the court complex, has succumbed to it. The 36-year-old woman identified as Kavitha of Ramanathapuram Kaveri Nagar, died while undergoing treatment. Her 42-year-old husband is in police custody.

The incident happened in front of the Coimbatore First Class Judicial Magistrate Court on March 23. Kavitha and Sivakumar got married after being in a relationship for years. The couple later reached Tamil Nadu. There were problems in their lives and following that Sivakumar attacked her.

Sivakumar, who tried to flee soon after attacking her, was caught by the police and the lawyers. She sustained more than 80% burns. His arrest will be registered soon.
