The controversial film 'The Kerala Story' has been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification with an 'A' certificate. The censor board gave permission to screen the film after directing the makers to make 10 changes in the film.
The Censor Board directed the makers to remove the former chief minister's interview from the film. It also gave directions to delete dialogues referring to 'the United States funding terrorists via Pakistan', and 'Communist Party not allowing Hindus to perform their rituals'. The committee asked the makers to delete the word 'Indian' from the 'Indian Communist Party'.
The plot of the film revolves around converting missing women from Kerala and using them for terrorist activities inside and outside the country. There have been widespread protests against the film in Kerala.
Changes recommended by Censor board
1. Delete the dialogue "Via Pakistan, unko paison ki madad bhi Americal hi karta tha'
2. Delete the dialogue referring to the Communist Party leaders not following puja rituals
3. Delate dialogues and inappropriate references to all Hindu Gods and rephrase them in a generic and dignified manner
4. Delete the word 'Indian' from the dialogue "Indian communists are biggest hypocrites"
5. Submit documentary evidence to the reference made about Alamgir, Aurangzeb and ISIS
6. Replace the word "Randiyaan" with "Sex slaves"
7. Delete the entire interview of the ex-CM of Kerala
8. Modify suitably the information mentioned about Rameez and Abdul
9. Submit documentary evidence for the stats mentioned in the film
10. Modify the subtitles as per the film's language and submit subtitles for the Malayalam songs
