NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has opposed the promise in the Congress manifesto for the Karnataka assembly elections to ban the Bajrang Dal, comparing it to the banned Popular Front. Modi alleged that the Congress has come up with a manifesto to ban those who chant 'Jai Bajrang Bali' when he came to Hanuman's land to pay his respects.
Meanwhile, after the controversy over the Congress manifesto, tight security was put in place at the Congress headquarters and the official residence of the party's former president Sonia Gandhi. Security has been tightened keeping in mind the possibility of protests from the Bajrang Dal side. Prohibitory order has also been declared here.
The Prime Minister said that the Congress, which had earlier taken a stand against Sri Ram, is now opposing those chanting 'Jai Bajrang Bali'. Congress was never proud of the country's heritage. If Congress wins here, the ban on PFI will be lifted. During Siddaramaiah's rule, only corruption happened in the state. Congress has lost the trust of the common people and now they are only trying to make promises. Congress promised to end the famine, but they have not yet been able to deliver it but their leaders who set out to end the famine have become rich instead. The primary objective of the double-engine government of Karnataka is social justice and social progress.
Modi said that the government is paying great attention to the upliftment of the poor and the empowerment of farmers. Congress has been taking a stance of encouraging terrorism for ages. They mocked the country's defense forces for carrying out surgical strikes and air strikes. Modi also said that the plan to make Karnataka the number one state in the country has been presented to the people by the BJP through its manifesto.
