AHMEDABAD: Gujarat Titans displayed bowling uppity in their match against Delhi Capitals in IPL. Mohammed Shami took the laurel of best bowling figure inside powerplay overs, a new record in IPL. During the powerplay, Shami bowled three overs giving away seven runs, and took four top-order wickets. Shami outpassed the 2012 record of Ishant Sharma who then with Deccan chargers took five wickets inside the powerplay giving away just 12 runs. Ishant’s fierce showdown was against the now disappeared Kochi tuskers Kerala.
With six losses from eight games, the Capitals find themselves in a do-or-die situation. They will probably need to win all of their remaining six games to make the IPL playoffs but considering the resources at their disposal, it looks highly unlikely.
