Pawar's decision to quit unusual; Ajit Pawar, Supriya Sule feud worsens

NEW DELHI: Sharad Pawar resigning from NCP chief position has a lot to do with Supriya Sule and Ajith Pawar, report says. Pawar stepping down is doubted to be the result of an ensuing feud between his daughter Supriya and nephew Ajit Pawar. Ajit Pawar recently did covert meetings with BJP members and if reports are to be believed, the former Maharashtra deputy CM will switch allegiance to BJP in coming days.

It was more or less reflected in Sharad Pawars' political decisions of the last few weeks. Pawar went soft on the Adani issue while the whole opposition was hollering for a JPC investigation. The NCP supremo also derided the opposition tactics of asking for the authenticity of the PM’s education. Insider report says Pawar’s newfound bonhomie with BJP is his master plan to make his nephew wield more power in Delhi while his daughter will pull strings sitting on the throne as NCP supremo.

Ajit Pawar recently held talks with NCP MLAs but was admonished by Sharad Pawar. The master politician wants every NCP decision to come under his daughter's watch. Some factions including Praful Patel and Jayant Patel are against Ajit Pawars dominance in NCP. The move will make it easier for Pawar to help Sule reach pole position in the party.

According to some experts, Pawar’s decision to step down had Sule’s approval. It was after the NCP core committee meeting in Mumbai that Sharad Pawar decided to call it a day. However, Supriya Sule predicted one week before in Delhi about a political upheaval happening in Mumbai.
