THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Southern Railway has said that the change in the schedule of other trains in Kerala is not due to Vande Bharat. As per the Railways, the train runs from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasaragod on time. The delay in Venad and Palaruvi Express has nothing to do with Vande Bharat, the Railways added. There were criticisms for holding up many other trains to pave the way for Vande Bharat and also because the train isn't able to achieve the speeds it got in the trial run. But the Railways said that the schedule of the trial run cannot be expected from the service run.
The schedule of Venad, Palaruvi Express, Delhi-Thiruvananthapuram Kerala Express, Kannur Shornur Passenger and Ernakulam Intercity trains were affected after the Vande Bharat service started. The complaint of the regular passengers is that currently the Venad Express departs five minutes late as the Vande Bharat Express departs at 5 in the morning.
Vande Bharat is not able to maintain the time it achieved during the trial run despite holding up other trains, which is causing anger among the passengers. However, the Railways has issued an explanation denying these allegations.
