US was behind drone attack intended to kill Putin, Ukrainian army acted as per order from Washington: Russia

MOSCOW: Russia has alleged that the United States was behind a drone attack on Moscow's Kremlin intended to kill Russian President Vladimir Putin. Dmitry Peskov, Putin's spokesman, accused the Ukrainian army of carrying out the attack on the orders of the United States.

"Attempts to disown this, both in Kyiv and in Washington, are, of course, absolutely ridiculous. We know very well that decisions about such actions, about such terrorist attacks, are made not in Kyiv but in Washington," said Dmitry Peskov. Peskov also warned that Russia has the right to retaliate against the attack.

Russia had accused Ukraine of sending two drones on Wednesday night in an attempt to kill Putin. Russia also claimed to have shot down both drones. Meanwhile, Ukraine has denied the allegations.
