Wife of trans man Praveen Nath, attempts suicide, transgender association seeks legal action

THRISSUR: Shortly after the suicide of trans man Praveen Nath, his wife also attempted suicide. His wife Rishana Aishu, has been admitted at Thrissur Medical College Hospital after she consumed naphthalene balls. Praveen Nath ended his life yesterday after consuming rat poison He was immediately taken to the medical college but died in the evening.

Transgender association lodged a complaint with the DGP and chief minister blaming online medias for his suicide and sought legal action against them. Praveen was depressed following rumours on social media that he had separated from his wife. Praveen married trans woman Rishana Aishu, a model and winner of the Miss Malabar beauty contest on Valentines Day. He was cyber bullied also. He had given an explanation through social media stating that it was a false propaganda.

‘Some online medias are circulating the news that we have separated. We have not separated. We live together. Don't spread the news that we have separated. Let us live well,' his post said. Praveen Nath was Mr Kerala Transman bodybuilder.
