MEGHAMALAI: Arikomban has again entered a residential area. Arikomban, who reached the Tamil Nadu forest area, tried to destroy crops near the Highwavys dam. The laborers and the forest guards drove Arikomban back into the forest. The forest department informed that the signal was not received due to bad weather. The forest department can find out the location of the wild tusker only by receiving the signal from the GPS collar.

During the last few days, Arikomban was near the Meghamalai Tiger Reserve in Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu Forest Department intensified surveillance after Arikomban reached the nearby residential area. It is reported that Arikomban travels about 40 kilometers a day on an average. Therefore, the authorities have concluded that the elephant is healthy.
