Homosexuality a disorder, will increase if same-sex marriage legalized: RSS survey

NEW DELHI: According to a survey conducted by RSS, homosexuality is a disorder and it will further swell if such marriages are legalized. They claimed that many doctors and medical professionals agree with this. The survey was conducted by Samwardhini Nyas, an affiliate of the women’s wing of RSS.

Rashtra Sevika Samiti, the women's wing of the RSS, stated that the survey report was prepared based on the responses of 318 people working in eight paths of treatment, from modern science to Ayurveda. According to the report, 70 percent of the doctors responded that homosexuality is a disorder. The report also states that 83 percent of doctors confirmed transmission of sexual disease in homosexual relations.

Legalizing same-sex marriage would only promote disorder in society rather than bringing them to normalcy. Rashtra Sevika Samiti observes in the survey report that counseling is the best way to bring people with such mental disorders back to normal.

Public opinion should be sought before legalizing same-sex marriage. According to the Rashtra Sevika Samiti, 67 percent of doctors who participated in the survey say that homosexuals cannot raise their children well. The RSS survey report was released in the context of the ongoing hearing in the Supreme Court on the petitions demanding the legalization of same-sex marriage.
