KOZHIKODE: Minister for Tourism and Public Works PA Mohammed Riyas said that foreign trips are not a bad thing. The minister responded about the foreign trips while the delegation of the Kerala government was about to leave for UAE. The central government had denied permission to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to attend the Abu Dhabi Investors Summit.
“This is not the first foreign trip. It is important to understand the world. Prime Minister Narendra Modi travels abroad a lot. CPM is not a party that lives by statements. It is not a party that does politics based on the size of its tongue. It is a party that actively engages in political issues and CPM is not taking responsibility for political gain”, said the minister.
Chief Secretary VP Joy also cancelled the UAE visit after the Centre denied permission to the Chief Minister. Instead, a three-member official team will leave today. NORKA, IT, and Tourism Secretaries will represent Kerala at the Abu Dhabi Investor Summit.
