BENGALURU: Minister of youth affairs Anurag Thakur lambasted sections supporting ban on the controversial movie, "The Kerala Story". He said the movie shows the blueprint of how many girls were converted and carted out of India to fight for an Islamic world in Syria. Minister accused the people who criticize the movie as sympathizers of ISIS and extremist theologies. He was speaking at the Kshatriya Mahakhumb event in Haryana.
Meanwhile, film writer Yadhu Krishnan alleged cheating from the makers of the movie for not giving him due remuneration or credits for writing the story. Yadhu claims it was his writing that created "The Kerala Story" but the makers decided to snub him when the movie neared a release. Yadhu is the son of noted film critic VIjayakrishnan.

It was in 2021 that Sudipto Sen approached Yadhu to write a script for the movie. Being a native of Kerala, Yadhu had the know-how about realties and events that shocked the state more than once. Yadhu wrote the script after signing an agreement and was given 10% of the agreed payment. However, Sudipto Sen convinced Yadhu about dropping the Malayalam version of the project but said the movie will be translated into Hindi and other languages. Yadhu was changed to consulting writer in title credits. The pay was cut short and he was forced to abide by the agreement term that told the writer to be part of the crew till the end of post-production work which the writer disagreed with. No payment was made since and the title card now shows the movie as written by Sudipto Sen and producer Vipul Shah.
