Next political stunt: checking fitness certificate of boats; Hareesh Kanaran ridicules governing system

The Tanur tragedy shocked all but also irked many. One among them is noted film personality Hareesh Kanaran. He ridiculed the state machinery and said, " For some days from now, government officials will run amok searching fitness certificates of boats all over Kerala. Such gimmicks are just face-saving acts, not with a real intent to work for State’s betterment. Hareesh scribbled on his Facebook page.

The boat 'Atlantic' in Tanur was questioned for its service long back. The dilapidated boat carried more than 50 people while the norms suggest not more than 20 at a time. 'Atlantic' tilted to one side traveling just 500m away from the harbor. The capsized boat killed 22 people as of now.
