Major protests in Paripally Medical College while shifting Sandeep to MCH

KOLLAM: Major protests were witnessed at Paripally Medical College when accused Sandeep, who stabbed to death Dr Vandana Das, was being shifted from there. It was great difficulty he was shifted to Thiruvananthapuram medical college cell. Hundreds of people including medical students protested. The doctors in Paripally medical college were not ready to treat the accused. He was treated later after the police intervened.

Vandana Das (23), a house surgeon of Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital, died while undergoing treatment in a private hospital, after she was attacked. Sandeep, taken into police custody after involved in a fight with his family members, attacked her when he was brought for a medical examination. Though Vandana, seriously injured after attacked using surgical scissors, was brought to the capital city, her life could not be saved. She was stabbed six times. The stab which she sustained on her back entered the lung. She was also stabbed on her spine.
