Vandana Das' killer suspended by general education department; there will be strict follow-up actions, said minister

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: General education department has suspended Sandeep who killed young doctor Vandana Das in Kottarakkara taluk hospital. Sandeep (42), a native of Pooyappally, is a teacher at Nedumpana UP School.

Education minister V Sivankutty informed about Sandeep's suspension through Facebook. The action was taken after a departmental inquiry. The minister also informed that there will be strict follow-up measures.

House surgeon Vandana Das was killed by Sandeep early this morning. Sandeep had called the police in the morning saying that he was being attacked. The police found him with an injured leg in front of a house half a kilometer away from his own house, and he was taken to the hospital afterward.

The footage of Sandeep's wound being cleaned under the leadership of nursing assistant Jayanthi was released earlier. He became violent and stabbed people including Vandana with scissors after he saw his relative.
