Minor girl goes missing, family lodges complaint; probe ended in 21-year-old youth, girl sexually abused

THRIKKODITHANAM: Police have arrested a youth who kidnapped and sexually abused a minor girl. The arrested person has been identified as Thrikkodithanam Maloorkkavu native Sharath Lal (21). After conducting an investigation on a complaint lodged by the girl's family, the police found that girl was being kept at a house at Athikkayam in Ranni.

Soon, the police reached the spot and arrested the accused. Upon recording the statement of the girl, it was found that the accused had sexually abused her. Following this, the police lodged a case against the accused under the POCSO Act. The accused was arrested by a police team consisting of Thrikkodithanam police inspector G Anoop, CPOs Selvaraj, Aneesh John and PC Santhosh.
