Sandeep is behaving very calmly, eating well; accused says he does not remember killing doctor, also said another thing

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sandeep, who was arrested in the murder of Dr. Vandana Das, has told the police officers that he does not remember stabbing Dr. Vandana to death. Sandeep, who is currently housed at the Poojappura Central Prison, also told the officials that he only retaliated when several persons attacked him as a group. The officials are of the conclusion that Sandeep is saying such things as he may have become paranoid since he did not use drugs for the last two days. Meanwhile, doctors are of the opinion that Sandeep is not suffering from any serious mental health issues.

Sandeep was brought to the Poojappura Central Prison on Wednesday night. Medical Officers examined him on Wednesday as well as Thursday. He was examined after removing his handcuff. Sandeep is behaving calmly and eating well.

Sandeep staying in UTB block
Sandeep is currently placed in the UTB block which has 24 hr police monitoring with CCTV cameras. It is rare for a remanded convict to be placed in high-security cells. UTB block houses notorious names sucha s Ripper Jayanandhan and Thadiyantavide Nazeer.
