'You are being attacked because of your behaviour', doctors of District Hospital accuse MLA of censuring them; asked them to behave properly, says K Shanthakumari

PALAKKAD: It has been alleged that Kongad MLA K Shanthakumari has misbehaved towards the doctors of the Palakkad District Hospital. The doctors have lodged a complaint against Shanthakumari.

The incident took place when Shanthakumari came to the casualty department in the hospital for her husband's treatment. When the MLA's husband complained of suffering from a fever, the doctors examined him using their hands and prescribed the medicine. Following this, the MLA scolded the doctors asking why they did not use a thermometer to check the fever. The doctors alleged that the MLA also said that the doctors are being attacked because of their poor behaviour. The doctors later lodged a complaint with the DMO against the MLA.

However, K Shanthakumari MLA has denied the allegations raised by the doctors. "I did not shout at the doctors. I did not say that doctors were getting attacked because of their behaviour. I only asked them to behave properly," the MLA said.

Meanwhile, the doctors said that there was no delay in providing treatment to the MLA's husband. KGMOA has filed a complaint against the MLA to the Health Minister.
