Accused brought to taluk hospital in Malappuram turns violent; hospital superintendent buys pepper spray

MALAPPURAM: An accused brought for a medical examination at Tirurangadi turned violent. The incident happened last Friday. The accused has been identified as Rafeeq of Chelambra. The visuals of the incident are circulating on social media.

The accused is heard saying in the video ‘beat me, beat me, I don't have any problem.’ The police took him into custody on the complaint of smashing the windows of an elderly man's house under the influence of alcohol. He was brought to Tirurangadi Taluk Hospital for medical examination around 11.45 pm.

The accused kicked and hurled abuses at the policemen. The medical examination was conducted after tying his hand with the mundu he had in his shoulder. The hospital superintendent bought pepper spray for their safety.
