Private bus crashes into lorry, kills lorry owner; incident in Konni

KONNI: A private bus rammed into a tipper lorry killing the lorry driver cum owner M S Madhu (65). The accident took place on Thannithodu-Konni road near the Orthodox church at 6:45 am morning.

The lorry was used to transport rock powders from the crusher unit to Chittar. The usual lorry driver never appeared for work which made the owner Madhu take up steering wheels. The collision was such that Madhu died on the spot. Madhu’s brother is the famous martyr of SFI, M S Prasad who was killed in a scuffle decades back.

The passengers in the bus were also injured and were shifted to Pathanamthitta general hospital and Konni Taluk Hospital. Madhu’s cremation will be held at 3 pm near his house premise in Chittar. He was also an active member of CPM.
