THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that in 2021, the state government implemented 580 of the 600 announcements it made in the manifesto. He also said that development worth 80,000 crores has been implemented in Kerala in the last seven years. Speaking in the LDF general meeting held on the occasion of the second anniversary of the government, the CM said that people outside the LDF also helped in the election.
Lashing out at the opposition, the Chief Minister alleged that there was development stagnation and corruption during the UDF government. Enumerating the LDF government's development activities, the Chief Minister said that the government had to pay Rs 5500 crore as a fine for the land acquisition of the national highway due to the mismanagement of the UDF government.
He also lashed out at the central government. "While Kerala faced the flood crisis unitedly, the central government withheld foreign aid. Mughal rule, Gandhi, Nehru and Azad are being omitted from textbooks. It will not happen in Kerala. The RSS had rejected the freedom struggle. Golwalkar said that time should not be wasted by protesting against the British. Savarkar was released from Andaman jail after he wrote an apology to the British," the CM said.
