The congress legislative party meeting will be convened at 7 pm this evening. Shivakumar has directed all MLAs to attend the meeting. Discussions on ministers are also progressing. This is to quickly form the cabinet once the chief minister is decided. With Siddaramaiah taking the post of the chief minister, the list of other ministers is likely to be disclosed soon.
Shivakumar had been insisting on the top post in the first term itself in the discussions held at the residences of Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjuna Kharge yesterday. Shivakumar rejected Rahul's assurances during the discussion held at No 10 Janpath residence in Sonia Gandhi's absence. It is learned that Sonia Gandhi participated in this discussion online from Shimla and later contacted Shivakumar on phone. It is reported that it was after this that a decision was taken to make Siddaramaiah the chief minister and DK Shivakumar the deputy chief minister.
