THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: According to Indian Meteorological Department, the monsoon is likely to reach South Andaman Sea, Nicobar Island and South Bay of Bengal regions tomorrow. Monsoon onset over Kerala is likely to happen by the first week of June. Monsoon may intensify in central and south Kerala initially.
There is a chance of rain with thunder and lightning at isolated places in the state till tomorrow. But in Kozhikode, Palakkad, Kollam, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Kannur, Malappuram and Thrissur districts, the temperature may rise by two to four degrees above normal, except in the hilly areas. Yellow alert has been announced in these districts. High temperature is expected to continue till tomorrow.
