THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Principal Secretary of Industries Mohammad Haneesh made a report that says that all the contracts given by Keltron in the controversial AI camera deal were transparent. The report refutes allegations that Keltron has defaulted in awarding the contract and it states that Keltron doesn't need to be aware of SRIT's subcontracted companies. Keltron reserves the right to contract for anything other than data security. The report also recommends measures to protect Keltron.
Minister P Rajeev said that after the report of the Principal Secretary of Industries came out, the allegations made in connection with the AI camera transaction were found to be baseless. Minister stated in the press conference that the report of the Principal Secretary of the Industries Department stated that Keltron's tender was transparent and the sub-contract was awarded following exact criteria.
The contract was awarded to Keltron on the recommendation of the technical committee. The tender process for SAFE Kerala was conducted as per CWC criteria. Everything except data security can be subcontracted. The minister said that a high-powered committee will be formed for such projects in the future.
