Wife swap case: Accused husband consumes poison after killing wife

KOTTAYAM: The wife swap case shocked the basic morals and exposed the ill deals running with impunity in the state. The 26-year-old wife who complained about the furtive deals was hacked to death by her husband just days before. Now, as per reports, the husband himself has swallowed poison in a bid to escape punishment for the murder. Shino Mathew consumed poison and is failing in health when he was last shifted to Kottayam medical college.

The Mannarkkad native 26-year-old wife was laying in a pool of blood just in front of her house which alarmed the neighbors. She was rushed to the medical college but died soon after admitting. Her father pointed fingers at Shino which made the police go against the husband, also the main brain behind the wife's swap case.

Shino and a gang of nine were arrested after the former's wife complained to police. The business was usually talked through telegram, where exist a group named “couple meets kerala”. According to police reports, Shino’s wife was exchanged and raped by more than nine people who similarly exchanged their wives. If resisted, Shino would quickly change to his brutal side and will give death threats to the children. The gang was busted in January and the police expect a connection of some big cartel behind the covert liaisons in Kerala.
