AWAS coverage available in 125 government hospitals now

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister V Sivankutty said that Awas insurance for workers from other states will be available in all government hospitals where admitted treatment is provided. So far only 64 hospitals have been providing free treatment of Rs 25,000 under the scheme. Now it will be available in 125 hospitals. The Minister also said that a special platform called Comprehensive Management System for migrant workers will be prepared to bring welfare activities by various departments for migrant workers under one roof. The minister released the outline of the scheme to Labor Secretary Ajit Kumar. Dr. Nandakumar, Additional Director, Health Department, accepted the approval document for the hospital in a function held at Layam Hall. Labor Commissioner and CHIAK President Dr. K Vasuki, CHIAK Executive Director and Additional Labor Commissioner K Sreelal, Additional Labor Commissioner KM Sunil, Administration Manager Bijoy JT, and others were present.
