BENGALURU: Veteran Congress leader Siddaramaiah took oath as Karnataka Chief Minister on Saturday. Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot administered the oath of office and secrecy to the CM and his cabinet at the swearing-in ceremony held at Bengaluru's Kanteerava Stadium. 10 MLAs, including Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar, took oath today.
DK Shivakumar was sworn in as the sole Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka. Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, CPM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury, CPI General Secretary D Raja, South Indian actor Kamal Haasan and others attended the function.
Meanwhile, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge issued an order allotting ministerial posts to eight MLAs. The MLAs who got ministerial posts are KH Muniyappa, KJ George, Satish Jarkiholi, G Parameshwara, MB Patil, Mallikarjun Kharge's son Priyank Kharge, Ramalinga Reddy and BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan.
