IUML leader charged under POCSO for sexually abusing minor boy

KASARAGOD: The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has taken action against Mooliyar panchayat member AM Mohammad Kunji, who was charged under POCSO Act for abusing a 16-year-old boy. The accused did the act on April 11. Mohammad, a native of Chowval, abused the 16-year-old after giving him drugs. Adoor police registered a case against him.

After the POCSO case was registered, Muhammad Kunji, who is the Mooliyar panchayat president, was removed from all posts in the Muslim League and affiliated organizations.

Meanwhile, Thiruvananthapuram Poovar police arrested two persons for trying to abuse a minor girl in the pretext of love. The arrested have been identified as Adityan (18) alias Adi of Varuvilakathu house in Karumkulam Pottayil and Surya (18) hailing from Laksham Veedu Colony in Athiyannur's Venpakal. The accused who were produced in the court under the POCSO Act were remanded. Two more people are to be arrested in the case.
