arikomban-

IDUKKI: Arikomban is stationed on the Kerala Forest border. The rogue tusker is now located at Mullakudi in Periyar Tiger Sanctuary. The forest department said the elephant has been staying here for two days and has not crossed the border.

It was decided earlier to translocate Arikompan in Mullakudi. It was released at Medakanam due to adverse weather conditions. The forest department said there is nothing to worry here. The forest department also said information from the GPS collar is being received accurately. Meantime, the Tamil Nadu Forest Department and the local people are relieved to have been able to bring Arikomban into the forest.
