Rakhisree's suicide: DYFI responds to campaign alleging that accused has DYFI connections

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: DYFI has responded to the allegations raised in connection with the suicide of Attingal native Rakhisree. The local leadership of DYFI stated that the youth, who is accused of being responsible for Rakhisree's suicide, has no connections with DYFI. It was responding to a report which claimed that the accused had DYFI connections. DYFI Attingal Block Committee Secretary Vishnu Chandran said that the accused youth is not a member of any element of DYFI and has no connection with the organization.

'If one checks the accused person's social media accounts, it will become clear that the accused is an active activist of the Youth Congress and the Congress. All other reports are fake news, the statement released by DYFI read. Attingal Block Committee Secretary also said that the DYFI will take legal action against the online media which is spreading fake news by linking the organization with the accused.

Rakhisree, known as Devu, was found hanging in the toilet of her house last Friday. She committed suicide a day after she secured A+ in all subjects in the SSLC examination. Earlier today, Rakhisree's family filed a complaint against a 28-year-old youth in connection with the suicide of their daughter. The parents filed a complaint with the police against a native of Pulimoottil Kadavu near Chirayinkeezhu. The girl’s father Rajeevan told media that the youth used to constantly harass his daughter and threatened to kill her if she rejects his love.
