Thief escapes from house after pouring petrol on youth's body during robbery attempt

NEDUMBASSERY: A thief escaped from a house after pouring petrol on the bodies of a house owner and his family members during a robbery attempt. The incident took place at the house of a person named Kallara Baby in Avanamcode on Saturday night.

The thief was sitting on the sit-out of the house when Baby's son Joseph came back home from a turf at around 11.30 pm. Upon seeing Joseph, the thief poured petrol from a bottle kept in his hand on Joseph's body and tried to set him on fire. He then ran away as Joseph started shouting. Nedumbassery police have registered a case into the incident.
