Accused Sandeep to remain in medical college for seven days; doctors doubt mental disorder

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sandeep, the main accused in Dr. Vandana's murder has been moved to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College for treatment. According to the doctor's suggestion, Sandeep needs to be treated at least for seven days after police showed doubt the culprit suffering from mental imbalance.

Under the tutelage of RMO Dr. Mohan Roy, a team of seven doctors treated Sandeep for almost seven hours. It was after further discussion that the doctors made it certain that Sandeep spent at least seven days in the hospital for further treatment and monitoring. The remand period of Sandeep has also ended which made the police go in favor of the doctor's decision. The court asked all protection to be provided to Sandeep during his hospital stay.

Meanwhile, the police brought Sandeep to his home in Kottarakkara and also brought him to Taluk Hospital for investigation procedures. Sandeep stabbed Dr.Vandana at least nine times on May 10th.
