IMD predicts heavy downpours in Kerala for next three hours; strong lightning presaged

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the next three hours, every district in Kerala except Thiruvananthapuram will receive heavy downpours added with thundering lightning. The wind and rain can combine at a speed of 40km per hour. The IMD has also warned about the same and placed many districts on yellow alert.

Lightning may be too harsh this time while the authorities are advising people to stay indoors and only venture out if necessary. Lightning can easily inflict vision loss and hearing loss with many others suffering instant heart attacks. The first 30 seconds after being struck by lightning are decisive in saving a victim's life. Kerala has a new liking to kite flying similar to northern states. The authorities have warned children and adults to not engage in the sport during the coming days.
