NEW DELHI: There is a possibility of changing the name of the new Parliament building which is to be inaugurated on May 28. The new parliament will have many special features. The building will have three entrances named Gyan Dwar, Shakti Dwar and Karma Dwar. There building will granite statues of prominent figures like Mahatma Gandhi, Chanakya, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and B R Ambedkar.
It would be impossible in the new Parliament for the opposition parties to protest by raising placards after trooping into the well of the houses. The chairs of the presiding officers have been placed at a higher level compared to the present chambers and the wells are deeper as well. Therefore, it will be difficult to get the visuals of the protests happening here on camera. When the new Parliament building becomes operational, the existing Parliament will be transformed into a 'Museum of Democracy'.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself will dedicate the new Parliament building to the nation. Union Home Minister Amit Shah clarified this the other day. Amit Shah said that the new Parliament building is a testimony to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Amit Shah clarified the government's position even as 19 political parties decided to boycott the inauguration ceremony without the participation of the President.
