Man arrested for molesting elderly woman in broad daylight in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police have arrested a man who tried to molest an elderly woman in broad daylight in Sreekaryam. The arrested person has been identified as Vattappara native Chitrasenan. According to police, the elderly woman was walking along the road when Chitrasenan followed her and attacked her.

The incident took place on Sreekaryam-Gandhipuram road at around 2.30 pm on Wednesday. The 68-year-old woman was returning from her daughter's house when Chitrasenan attacked her in the middle of the road. When the elderly woman tried to free herself from his clutches, Chitrasenan pushed her into a nearby corridor. Locals rushed to the spot upon hearing the woman's cry for help. Following this, they apprehended Chitrasenan and handed him over to the police. He is also accused in the 2020 attempt to murder case within the limits of the Sreekaryam police station.
